Colonel St. James has been rocking radio audiences around the country for over 25 years, starting in the late '70s at KILT-FM, when it was a rock and roll station. Then it was off to KLOL where The Colonel commanded the afternoon airwaves and the Rock and Roll Army with a membership of over 300,000 worldwide. Then, St. James joined Moby and the gang at 97 Rock, until he left for Miami wher he set ratings records and introduced new programming standards at both the album rock and the Classic Rock stations there. Then, it was back to Houston to break even more ratings records at Oldies 94.5. After five years there, it was off around the country once again for shows at stations in Grand Rapids, Mich., and stations across the country with the ABC Radio Networks in Dallas. Speaking of nationwide exposure, Colonel St. James was also very instrumental in helping launch XM Satellite Radio in Washington, D.C. Now he's back in Houston at The Arrow. The Colonel says, "I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity to entertain the Houston audience once more with the music I love. Plus, I'm working with a tremendous staff of people. That always makes my job so much more fun!"

What a great Arrowfest! I don't think any Arrowfest, or any other rock show I've been to lately can top last Sunday's show at the CWMP. Everybody sounded great! I especially enjoyed Styx who I thought rocked better than I've ever seen them before including their days with Dennis De Young. Tommy Shaw was really crankin'! Too bad we couldn't get Jack Blades from Nightranger out to do "High Enough" with him. You can't have everything, right? Boston absolutely blew the roof off the pavilion. Brad Delp was certainly missed, but Tommy DeCarlo filled the gap admirably. Between him and Michael Sweet, the vocals were outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, Tom Scholz was untouchable. His mastery of both guitar and keyboards, along with his effortless style was such a treat to experience. The man is truly a genius. Oh, and I'm in love with Kimberly Dahme. I got to see her from about 20 feet backstage, and she is just a goddess! None too shabby a bass player either. If you know Kim, hook a brotha up!! All in all, it was a fantastic day in The Woodlands. Hope you were there, and had as much fun as I did, and If you were there and stopped by the broadcast area to say hello, great to see you!
Hello, yeah it's been a while....

...not much....how 'bout you?
Ok, enough of that. I got an e-mail a day or so ago telling me to update my blog. I really didn't realize it had been that long since I last wrote. So, let's see. Ok, how 'bout this?
I truly wish people would be a little more interested stuff that matters rather than the stuff they hear on the "E" channel or on TMZ. I personally am more concerned that gasoline is gonna be $4 a gallon by the Fourth of July than I am with who Roger Clemens allegedly had an affair. I figure it like this. My name isn't Roger or Debbie Clemens or Mindy McCready, so it's none of my business. It's not exactly like a Bill and Monica thing. Even then, I didn't care that the President of The United States of America was allegedly cheating on his wife. If Hillary could deal with it, why should I mind? I just didn't like it when he lied to a Grand Jury and walked. But that's another blog. We just seem to be et up with the most trivial garbage. There are millions of people in this world who hate us enough to kill us, and we are more concerned with Tom Cruise jumping on a couch, or which Hollywood hottie is popping out a kid or headed for rehab now. Jeez!! Am I the only one who doesn't believe that shows like Extra and Inside Edition aren't really news shows, and who turns the local news off when they start talking about the fluff that invades our lives everyday? I guess I really am in a minority, because now CNN is devoting part of it's broadcast day to doing roundtable dicussion type shows about what Britney is up to and the like. Real news is taking a backseat, to say the least. I can hear it now, "Reports out of North Korea tell us that they have just launched a massive nuclear strike aimed at the West coast of the United States. The entire state of California will be destroyed in thirty minutes.....Oh but wait...we must cut away to our field reporter in Miami where J Lo has just given birth to another set of twins." The sad part is, that could really happen. Now, aren't you glad you got me started? Really, thanks for the e-mail.
Oh, and for some good news, Steve Fixx and his wife just had a brand new baby boy. I'm so happy for Steve and his family! Call him, when he returns to the air on Tuesday, May 20 and congratulate him. See ya tomorrow at 2pm for a Two-fer Tuesday!!
